Biography
Professor Oswald specializes in medieval Spanish literature, with an emphasis on the formation and diffusion of the Spanish epic. Before coming to Notre Dame, she taught language and culture at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Holy Cross College. At Notre Dame, she teaches courses ranging from intermediate language to topics in medieval literature; she is also a regularly contributing faculty member to the Moreau College Initiative, a program through Holy Cross College that allows qualified individuals at the Westville Correctional Facility the opportunity to pursue a degree in the liberal arts.
Research Interests
Medieval Spanish epic, women in medieval literature, composition, intermediate language and culture.
