Santiago Navarrete Astorquiza
Ph.D in Spanish
Born and raised in Colombia, I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Literature at the Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá), in 2016. In 2018, I obtained the master’s degree in Literature at the same institution. During this time, I was interested in the work of the Colombian poet, Aurelio Arturo. My research was focused on the relation between body, memory, and the constitution of masculinity in his poetry. The thesis and dissertetion titles are “La sensación en la palabra leída en cinco poemas de Aurelio Arturo” and “En el umbral de roble demoraban las mimosas: análaisis de las versiones de ‘Morada al Sur’, de Aurelio Arturo”. My current interests include the Andes textual production of the XXth century, the Southern Cone literature and the functions of body and memory in the contemporary cultures of these regions.
