A Venezuelan, she obtained her degree in Sociology from the Universidad Central de Venezuela and at the same time worked as a professor in different cello chairs of the National System of Youth and Children's Orchestras and Choirs in the same country. Her interest in field work in urban communities led her to participate as a facilitator in programs for the social reinsertion of street youths through music, as an analyst with the Presidential Commission for the Control of Weapons, Ammunition and Disarmament, and as an advisor in the communications department of various state offices. In recent years, she has devoted her time to volunteer work in defense of the right to free access to knowledge and training women and girls as editors of the free encyclopaedia Wikipedia. Her research focuses on the study of media consumption and transmedia narratives and the analysis of the construction of subjectivities around cultural consumption in contemporary Latin American narrative.
