Research Interests

(Bucaramanga, Colombia, 1992) I am a first year PhD student. I earned my BA in Literary Studies at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, in 2015. My research interests cover the relations between the human and the non-human beings (be it “nature” or “animals”) as mediated by war.

I am also very interested in the non-academic world of culture. Since 2013, I am part of the editorial committee of Sombralarga, revista de literatura colombiana, a digital magazine interested in publishing new Colombian literature and literary criticism. I have also done interviews with Colombian contemporary authors, as well as written essays and reviews for magazines such as Arcadia, CTXT, and Boletín Cultural y Bibliográfico del Banco de la República. I have been invited to the Feria Internacional del Libro de Bogotá, where I moderated several talks with Colombian and international authors. I was also part of the pre-selection process of the Premio Hispanoamericano de Cuento Gabriel García Márquez in 2018.

In 2018, I co-founded Rapsoda, escuela itinerante de rap y literatura, a project that works with young rappers from downtown Bogotá. We have offered workshops that seek to bring the world of literature and the world of rap music together.

For four years, I worked as a Spanish Language and Literature Teacher and the Spanish Department Coordinator at Tilatá Highschool in Bogotá, Colombia.
