M.A. Italian Studies

Research Interests

"I graduated from Notre Dame in 2017 with majors in Italian Literature—with a thesis comparing the theories of nature of Leon Battista Alberti and Henry David Thoreau—and History, including a thesis which analyzed early English-language translations of Dante’sCommedia in their particular historical moments. My current research interest is the influence of Medieval and Renaissance humanist thought on 18th- and 19th-century American society and jurisprudence. I look forward to both introducing students to a new world and culture as well as giving them a new perspective on their own. My less academic passions include cinema, cooking,  and music, particularly the songs of Norah Jones.”
