Research Interests
Gabriella Di Palma began studying Italian when she attended her senior year of high school in Viterbo, Italy. She received her Bachelor of Arts degrees from Indiana University-Bloomington with a double major in Italian Studies and Art History. Her Honors Thesis for Italian explored the social and psychological development in the figure of the Italian American male in cinema and on stage. At Indiana University, Gabriella was awarded the Mario & Katrina Vangeli Award for her outstanding work in Italian Studies. She was also nominated by the Italian Faculty at Indiana University for the IU Bloomington Senior Recognition Award. Her current research interests include Southern Italian literature and culture, The Southern Question, and Italian American Studies.
