Research Profile

Katherine Brown’s research and teaching interests focus on medieval French literature and culture, with a particular emphasis on the reception of medieval literature and manuscript studies. Her first book, Boccaccio’s Fabliaux: Medieval Short Stories and the Function of Reversal (University Press of Florida), appeared in 2014 and traces the evolution of the medieval short story in Old French and Italian. Her current research explores the relationship between textual transmission and maritime travel within the corpus of Old French hagiography.
