Congratulations to Professor Rachel Rivers Parroquin

Notre Dame Department of Romance Languages and Literatures Professor Rachel Parroquin has been selected by the Indiana Chapter of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese as 2015 Indiana Teacher of the Year  -University Category . Professor Parroquin really deserves this renowned state award. Her dedication and passion for teaching Spanish, her motivation to engage students with community service and her involvement with students' success and progress were evident in her dossier. Professor Parroquin will now represent AATSP Indiana  in IFLTA with the option to be named 2015 Indiana Foreign Language Teacher of the Year (competing with the Teachers of the Year in other languages) , 2017 Central States Teacher of the Year and 2018 ACTFL National Teacher of the Year.  
 
 
The Award Ceremony will take place on Saturday, November 7th at 10am at the Sheraton Hotel Indianapolis (Keystone Crossing) during the AATSP Business Meeting that is part of the Indiana Foreign Language Teachers Association Conference. You all are invited to celebrate this distinction with Professor Parroquin.  Please let me know if you plan to attend to recognize your presence during the ceremony.
