Students Recognized for Engaged Work in the Latino Community

Seven outstanding ND students of Spanish are being recognized this month for their academic performance combined with extensive engagement in the community. Four students - Alena Coleman, Margaret McGreevy, Madeline Soiney, and Shannon Steines - were recently recognized by the Indiana chapter of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese as "Outstanding College Students of Spanish". In the upcoming Romance Languages and Literatures' ceremony for graduating seniors Alena Coleman, Madeline Soiney, Stella Cho, Clare Wieland, and Lorena Morejón Lasso will be recognized with various Spanish service awards.
