On October 24, Professor Vanesa Miseres will be addressing the inaugural lecture for the Soledad Acosta de Samper Digital Library in Bogotá, Colombia. This is a joint project of the National Library of Colombia and the Universidad de los Andes. Professor Miseres has also curated the online exhibition on Soledad Acosta de Samper albums and scrapbooks. Miseres lecture will bring a new perspective to the study of one the most renowned and prolific writers and journalists of 19th-century South America by analyzing Acosta de Samper’s work with visual and material cultures from her period.
