The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures is delighted to share that Eduardo Febres, one of our Ph.D. candidates in the Spanish Program, has been selected as a recipient of the prestigious Edward Guiliano Global Fellowship awarded by the Modern Language Association. Eduardo is one of 17 recipients chosen from a competitive pool of 130 applicants this year, a testament to the exceptional quality of his work and dedication to the field. His project, "Fostering Inclusive Digital Preservation: Advancing MOREL at Yale’s DH Lab," will benefit significantly from the $2,000 grant supporting his research-focused travel and experiential learning.
For those interested in applying for the Edward Guiliano Global Fellowship, the award supports research or experiential learning projects tied to the completion of a dissertation, development of publishable scholarly work, or alternative humanities career pathways. Ideal applicants propose transformative experiences that expand their research beyond local communities, as the fellowship emphasizes innovation and global engagement. The application cycle typically aligns with the MLA Annual Convention, with winners honored during the event. Early preparation and alignment with the fellowship's goals are crucial for a competitive submission.
