Students, Faculty, Iberian and Latin-American Program from UND recognized

On November 3rd in Indianapolis, at the Indiana Chapter of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese several students, faculty and the Iberian and Latin-American Program from the University of Notre Dame were recognized. 

Majors Allison Hidalgo, Lawrence "Trey" Murphy, Brian Raab, and Megan Wilson were recipients of the 2018 Indiana Outstanding College Student of Spanish Award. This prestigious state award is given to selected students for their outstanding academic record, exceptional interest for the Iberoamerican culture, exemplary community service, remarkable overseas experience and astonishing passion for the Spanish language/culture/literature.

Faculty member Tatiana Botero received a 2nd teaching award: 2018 Indiana World Language Teacher of the Year at the university level which was awarded by IFLTA (Indiana Foreign Language Teaching Association). Her first award was 2018 Indiana Spanish Teacher of the Year at the university level awarded by AATSP (American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese), and the Spanish program was awarded the 5-Sun Spanish Department Distinction for exemplary activities implemented by its faculty and students.
