First Annual Meeting
On June 12-13, 2024 the group met for the first time in South Bend, Indiana, generously hosted by the University of Notre Dame. In advance of the event, participants each circulated a draft of a current project (a journal article, a handbook article, two book chapters, and two book introductions). Over the course of the afternoon of the first day and the morning of the second, each participant’s work was the subject of a one-hour discussion, led by an assigned respondent and geared toward offering feedback for revising or refining the work in progress. In addition to the concrete benefit to individual participants’ drafts, the discussion surfaced points of shared interest among the group, elaborated in further conversation over dinner the first night and during a closing lunch before departure. At that closing lunch, members discussed a future meeting schedule and other group activities and priorities to propose to the wider membership.
