The minor in European Studies is offered by the Nanovic Institute. In the minor students study the politics, history, and culture of Europe, as well as at least one foreign language.

Gender Studies

Gender Studies is an interdisciplinary academic program that analyzes the significance of gender in all areas of human life, especially in the social formation of human identities, practices, and institutions. 

Latin American Studies

The Latin American Studies program, which is offered by the Kellogg Institute, promotes opportunities for students to deepen their understanding of Latin America through a variety of courses, campus activities, internships, and firsthand overseas learning experiences.

Latino Studies

Latino Studies is a field of academic inquiry that rigorously examines the historical and contemporary experiences of Latinos in the context of American society and its institutions. Both a supplementary major and a minor in Latino studies are offered by the Institute for Latino Studies.

Medieval Studies

With an emphasis on close reading, precise textual analysis, careful writing, and vigorous discussion, the program is designed to foster critical thinking, communication skills, historical awareness, and multicultural appreciation.

Peace Studies

The Kroc Institute offers a supplementary major and interdisciplinary minor for undergraduates who wish to complement their major field with courses focused on issues of peace, violence, justice and human rights.
