Research Profile
Professor Menyard is interested in second language acquisition, French cultural studies, and French and Francophone literatures. In 2007-2009, she was the on-site Director of the International Studies Program in Angers, France (SUNDEF) and is again holding that position for the 2011-2014 academic years.
In Angers, she teaches a course on the Role and Image of Women of the Loire Valley from the Early Middle Ages to the 21st Century. Since spring 2012, professor Menyard includes the Community-Based Learning element in her course. Her students have regular weekly contacts with residents at César Geoffray, a community retirement home for elders with memory issues. Her course was nationally recognized in 2012 by the UNCCAS.
