Biography

Born and raised in a village called Nagai (Siwan), Subhas Yadav is a first generation academic from an agro-pastoral community of rural Bihar, India.
Currently, he is pursuing Ph.D. in Spanish at the University of Notre Dame, where he is awarded a prestigious University Presidential Fellowship. Prior to coming to Notre Dame, he taught as an Auxiliar of English at IES la Coma, Valencia (2022-23); and has been guest faculty at Woxsen University (2023) and at the University of Hyderabad, India (2021-22). He has also taught Spanish for a decade at several IB and IGCSE international schools of repute in Hyderabad, India.
He has studied comparative literature at the University of Hyderabad (2015-21) and at Universidad de Santiago de Compostela (2011-12); Spanish at JNU, New Delhi (2006-11), UIMP (2009) and Universidad de Extremadura, Spain (2017-18). He has also been UGC research fellow (2015-2021), thrice winner of ERASMUS Mundus scholarship (2011-2012, 2013, 2017-2018), PEIN-INDIA scholarship awardee (2013) at Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, AECID summer course awardee at UIMP, Santander (2009) and Iberoamerika Zentrum (IAZ) summer course fellow at Heidelberg University (2019).
Currently, he edits India’s only Spanish magazine called SpanishBOLO (ISSN: 2582 9262), available here at www.revista.spanishbolo.com, and has been associate editor of Spanish and Portuguese Review of the AATSP. He is contributing to the linguistic/cultural landscape for Spanish learning/teaching in India through several projects including  SpanishBOLO and BailaBollywood.
