If you thought you knew Shakespeare, think again!

Over the course of one magical weekend, dozens of actors from throughout the community—neighbors, friends, and young and old alike—take to the stage with their own unique spin on some of Shakespeare’s most beloved works. Two different performances, each offering a series of ten-minute scenes, are sure to inspire and delight the entire family.…

Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival presents The Comedy of Errors

A fast-paced and adventurous romp awaits two sets of twins, masters and servants, torn apart from their brothers in a tempestuous shipwreck. When one pair unexpectedly arrives in the adopted town of the other, hilarity and hijinks ensue. The actions of the children may fulfill one parent’s search for his long-lost sons – or be the death of him.…

Printmaking Exhibition: Southern Graphics Council International Traveling Exhibition

This exhibition of original prints, drawings, and other graphic materials (including sculpture and installation), by members of SGC International completed between 2008 and 2012, is jurored in by Frances Myers.

Myers is a print artist who works in and teaches etching. She continually reinvigorates her prolific career as a printmaker through her experiments with unusual materials and new technologies such as digital prints, installation, and video. She is chair of the graphics area of the Art Department at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.…

The recent discovery of King Richard’s remains by archeologists means there is no better time to see why the “winter of our discontent” turns into a “glorious summer” at the Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival.…

Exhibition: José Guadalupe Posada and His Legacy

Scholz Family Works on Paper Gallery, Snite Museum of Art

José Guadalupe Posada (Mexican, 1852–1913), was an important printmaker in pre-revolutionary Mexico. His bold, simplified, and direct manner of communicating his political views had a profound influence on the work and ideology of the artists who in 1937 formed the Taller de Gráfica Popular (Popular Graphic Arts Workshop) in Mexico City, and subsequent generations of printmakers in Mexico, the United States, and Europe. Posada’s illustrations were readily understood by the mostly illiterate Mexican population through his use of familiar images, such as the caricature of the calavera (skeleton), to satirize Mexican social and political abuses and injustices. …

Photography Exhibition: "Heartland: The Photographs of Terry Evans"

Artist Terry Evans is known for her photography of different landscapes, particularly those centered on the prairies, people, and artifacts of the Midwest. A native of the Midwest, Evans was born in Kansas City, Missouri. She later lived in Salina, Kansas before moving to Chicago early in the 1990s.

Theatre Performance: Shakespeare's Othello

Shakespeare has no greater hero than Othello, from which lofty height—no character has further to fall. Set in Venice and Cyprus, Othello is a moving, sexy and ultimately tragic tale of betrayal and vengeance.

Actors From The London Stage is one of the oldest established touring Shakespeare theater companies in the world. Housed and workshopped in England with academic tours booked through the auspices of Shakespeare at Notre Dame, this program is truly unique. Featuring minimal props, costumes, and set, the clever staging showcases the talents of the ensemble while keeping the focus where it belongs: on Shakespeare’s words.…
