"Y mi cabeza es un campo de batalla:" Communicating the Inexpressible, Poetry, and Migraine
A public lecture by Jill Kuhnheim

In this lecture, Prof. Kuhnheim brings together two fields of knowledge: creative language and literature, and health and psychological studies in an innovative way that shows the advantages of the dialogue between humanities and sciences. She studies how migraines move their sufferers across the boundaries between the physical, neurological, and psychological, depending on the moment and the place in which their headaches are categorized. In this lecture, she will contrast the work of two poets around the migraine experience:  Mexican Claudia Hernández de Valle-Arizpe author of Hemicránea (1998) and US poet Michael Dickman in Green Migraine (2016).
