Professor of the Practice/Lecturer in Italian
The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures invites applications for a Professor of the Practice/Lecturer in Italian.  Responsibilities include supervising multiple sections of first and second-year language and culture classes, assisting in the training, supervision, and mentoring of graduate student teaching assistants and first-year lecturers, and periodically teaching a graduate course in foreign language pedagogy and methodology.  Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated excellence in teaching, prior coordinating or administrative experience, familiarity with a range of language-teaching methodologies, including technology-related pedagogy and pedagogy through theatre, and experience in curriculum development and assessment.  Native or near-native proficiency in Italian, minimum of five years of experience teaching at the university level and PhD or equivalent are required; knowledge of Latin and/or another Romance language highly desirable.

Spanish Lecturer/Service-Learning Coordinator
The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures and the Center for Social Concerns (CSC) at the University of Notre Dame invite applications for a full-time faculty Lecturer position in Spanish to develop, coordinate, and maintain a first-rate Spanish service-learning program. The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching two courses per semester in Spanish language and culture, working in conjunction with Spanish language faculty to develop, implement, and oversee opportunities for student engagement with the local Latino community.  The candidate is also expected to extend and forge new partnerships with local, national, and international community organizations while sustaining high quality service-learning courses.
Native fluency in Spanish, MA or higher degree in Spanish or related field, demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college or university level, evidence of a strong commitment to service-learning in the foreign languages, and relevant experience in service to Latino communities are required. The candidate must have proven success in leadership positions and strong interpersonal skills in order to work collaboratively with an array of diverse constituencies. An interest in interdisciplinary approaches to education and/or experience in teaching Spanish for heritage speakers are also desirable.
